The Simpson’s Movie
I saw The Simpsons Movie during its theatrical release, and it was a blast. From the opening scene where Homer ridicules the audience, right through to the continuing gags through the end credits, it was the funniest movie I had ever seen on the big screen.
It was pure – Simpsons style – fun. It was accessible to fans and non-fans alike. It had a positive message that was clear as anything, but one that took a back seat to the jokes. Humour was what drove the movie, and the village idiot was as usual, Homer.
Though there was an actual village idiot in some scenes.
Having seen it at the movies however, had given me hope that the comic genius behind the movie, would customise the intro scenes to fit the DVD format. It would have meant re-creating an entire scene, but the concept would have been easy.
Alas this wasn’t so, a rare opportunity missed.
Food for thought
I don’t care about myself anymore because other people are just as important as me. – Homer
