Strippers Vs Werewolves
When the previously unheard of British horror/comedy Strippers Vs Werewolves came up on the DVD release schedule, I had visions of another evening of outrageous comedy in the vein of Lesbian Vampire Killers. The release sheet didn’t indicate a rating, but from the cover artwork I wasn’t expecting much more than the occasional tease in the skin department.
Sadly the film fails abysmally, for one, no one seems to realise that it’s a comedy and the laughs are strained at best. Then there’s the awful werewolf makeup, the cheap photoshop filter image montages, the hey-this-was-cool-when-24-first-did-it multiple split screen segments. Wrap this up with some bad acting, a lack of direction and way too much emphasis on the stripper aspect of the title, and you have a complete and utter mess that should never have seen the light of day.Â
It’s a shame really, because the concept of the film could have made for an exceptional evening of fun.
