Last Chance To See – Return of the Rhino
Last Chance to see was an amazing series where Stephen Fry fronted a show that saw him follow Mark Carwardine around the world looking for evidence of some of the most endangered species in the world. Whilst they found some animals being looked after with dedicated groups trying to ensure the survival of the species, when it came to finding the Northern White Rhino they were too late. It was already extinct.
Last Chance To See – Return of the Rhino reunites Stephen and Mark when they get the chance to embark on a new – albeit shorter – adventure where they follow the attempt to take four White Rhinos from captivity and return them to Kenya where a dedicated program has been put in place to re-establish the White Rhino in it’s natural habitat.
The operation is one fraught with difficulties and unknown elements – for one, how will the Rhinos cope with such a long journey, will they be able to acclimate to the Kenyan climate?
It is a dramatic adventure that will bring smiles to the faces of anyone who saw the original series, especially because the White Rhino which was extinct is being given a new chance at life.
