Human Target is a action/drama TV show loosely based on the DC Comics character Christopher Chance. It follows the antics of ex-assasin turned good guy. Chance, as he sets up a new lie for himself as the best one man protection detail available. With the help of an ex-Cop and a former assassin stable mate, they spend each episode either protecting people or rescuing people.
Along the way, Chance’s past rears it’s ugly head occasionally and we get to see a hint of things to come as his ex-boss tries to find him.
Now I have to be honest and say that if I was watching Human Target on TV, I wouldn’t have got past the first episode. It just didn’t grab me. But then this weird and wacky group of misfits grew on me. Sure it was cheesy at times, and plot holes the size of South America were frequent, but in the end the characters carried the show with a brilliant ease.
By the end of the season Chance and his small band of merry men had become such an important part of my life, it was sad to have to say goodbye, especially because of the good old fashioned season closing cliffhanger.
I’ll be waiting with anticipation for season 2 to arrive on BluRay.
It may start slow, but if you give it a chance, Human Target will easily become one of your favourite TV shows.
