Curious and Unusual Deaths
Curious and Unusual Deaths is a six part TV series that takes a look at eighteen different real life deaths, complied into six hand sub categories. It’s standard American reality TV fare, in the sense that they tend to draw out each death, but it does stay true to it’s name as it hooks the curious side of you into each episode.
Even good old New Zealand is featured, though rather embarrassingly with the story of a guy who drowns in his cats water bowl. Yes, this infamous urban legend is in actuality a real event, that thankfully has occurred in other countries as well.
So of the deaths are so stupendous you can see them coming a mile off, and have to shake your head in disbelief at the sheer stupidity of these people who could easily be nominated for the Darwin Awards.
Through re-enactment and the help of experts in some truly weird subjects, we get to see what the precursor to death was, and how the grim reaper made his move. What’s more, at the end of each death you get a historical overview, with examples of similar deaths around the world.
Curious and Unusual Deaths is not something you’re going to be raving about to your friends, but it does make for an interesting and entertaining night in front of the TV.
