DVD Review: Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Season 2
Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is a rare thing in the Marvel universe: a concept that didn’t quite deliver. But hey, how can a TV show live up to the huge Hollywood explosion that is The Avengers? Well it can’t, and didn’t, and despite picking up towards the end of the season, expectation for Season 2 were low at best.
So season 2 rolls around on DVD, and it’s one part businesses as usual and one part building on fallout out following The Winter Soldier – because all parts of the Marvel universe are connected.
In season 2 the pacing seems a lot better and some of the loose ends from season 1 have been dealt with. With some new characters and a more guerrilla-type approach to fighting evil, season 2 still lacks some of the expected oomph that the films contain in excess, but manages to find it’s groove as a decent TV show, that’s actually worth watching.
