Sacred 2: Fallen Angel
Life is on hold agian thanks in part to this game. It’s similar to Baulders gate, Never Winter Nights and Diablo. It’s full 3d with overhead camera RPG with support for 4 player Co-Op through the ENTIRE story line.
The Manual indicated that the Level cap is at 200 which looks like its going to take a while (unlike the far to easy level cap in Fallout 3).
I am level 17 at the moment and I have completed 20% of the side quests without having finished chapter one of the main story. While I find it suffers from the issues of point and click gaming and I am a miffed about the lack of a first person view I am loving the first hard core RPG on the 360.
The 2 biggest issues are the hero chest and the lack of pause button. The hero chest lets you store surplus equipment and is available at most major towns, all the characters you create use the same hero chest allowing you to give items to your other PC’s. Pretty neat but its main let down is my item drops disappearing after about 2 minutes and no way to reach the chest and get back. Sure you could scrap cheap items for less gold than the sale price but it’s annoying.
There is a fix however, but it will cost you 240 Microsoft Dollars for a Chest Imp that you can summon who carries a hero chest out to your location. It’s a bit early for paid add ons, but I guess it is a luxury, not a necessity.
The omission of the Pause button is very frustrating. Especially if you didn’t go toilet before leaving on a quest. “Here lies [insert name], Killed by A.F.C. because he needed to take a wee.” Oh well, gaming meets real life I guess.
In essence, the lack of pause features can probably be put down to the co-op componant, as it would cause all sorts of havoc trying to keep games in sync. If I realy need a break for any reason my options are; to push on forward to the next teleport location or resurrection post, find a city with guards on the gate to keep the monsters out or teleport back to a previous location and then walk or ride back to where I was which can take up to 5 minutes.
Grumbles aside, it’s a good solid game that’s definitely worth a look.
Their are 6 characters in total 3 good and 3 evil (2 different story lines) and there is no moral choices system. For maximum game score, a minimum of 6 run throughs are required. One with each class. Of these one needs to explore everything and do most quests, One needs to be a fastest root possible avoiding everything but the story and one requires that you don’t die any time during the main quests.
I don’t know if you can continue after the main quests but I would say its highly likely, Xbox Live lets you have up to 10 characters and you can play as them in other peoples games, Monster spawning and quantity IS modified depending on how many people are in the game.
