Race to Witch Mountain
This re-make of the classic Disney movie of the same name, both based on the book of the same name features Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in his now typecast role of children’s movie actor. Playing the part of Jack, a Las Vegas cabbie who’s in trouble with the local Mob, Dwayne eases comfortably into the role, and though the movie starts off a tad cheesy, it soon finds it’s groove when the two weird kids – who are actually aliens – turn up. It’s at this point where the movie lives up to it’s name, Race To Witch Mountain is an edge of your seats thrill ride that does an amazing job of keeping children as well as adults entertained with almost non-stop action for just over one and a half hours.
Crammed with special effects and spectacular action sequences, Race mixes a lively dose of lighthearted humour with the message that it’s ok to be different, and that trust is a much more powerful force than cynacism.
