The Dark Knight Sets Another Record!
The Dark Knight has just crossed the US$400 million mark in a record setting amount of time – just 18 days of release in the US. To give you an idea of just how big that is, the previous record holder – Shrek 2, took 43 days to do the same! The movie also made over $6 million on a Monday, so it’s still got some steam left in it. The Dark Knight is up against Pineapple Express and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 this coming weekend so it will be interesting to see if either of those movies knock it off the top spot or if The Mummy can move vertically in it’s second week.
The Dark Knight has cracked the all time domestic (US) top ten and only needs a further US$61 Million to make it past Star Wars and into the number 2 spot. Worldwide The Dark Knight sits at 69 in the all time charts.
