Wish You Were Here
After seeing Snowtown at the New Zealand Film Festival last year, I decided I’d give Aussie drama Wish You Were Here a go this year. A story that centers on a group of friends whose lives are torn apart when one of them goes missing during a spontaneous holiday to Cambodia, and told in a distractingly non-linear format. So distractingly that you’re often left to puzzle out for yourself, just where the some scenes belong in the overall time-line.
Stupid, cliched and predictable, this apparently ambitious drama pretty much flops from the get go and will have you wishing from about half way through, that you were anywhere but here. There’s not much else to say really other than don’t go to this film.
