The Bucket List
Edward Cole (Jack Nicholson) and Carter Chamber (Morgan Freeman) meet in the most unfortunate of circumstances. Reality of time on earth strikes a chord as they both are inheritors of bad news…they are dying and they do not have long before they kick the bucket.
Bucket List is a phenomenal story of finding oneself while reflecting on past should of/could of/would of questions of life. Mr. Cole has wed multiple times, own hospitals (not health spa’s), and is literally worth millions. Mr. Chamber is a hard working auto-mechanic making
ends meet, married to his one and only, and has a very close knit family. Two opposite stories that avoid crashing into one another, but rather they mesh and it makes for a marvelous story.
Inspired by a school writing assignment, Carter begins documenting his Bucket List filled with awe inspiring moments of Divine goodness. Edward, after discovering the list, throws in thrills and excitement. Both men decide not to wait on their funerals and they head out for what would become an adventure of a lifetime!
Sharing life together meant opening up to the most dear, or not so dear, parts of both mens lives. Family, God, character, and life are common themes throughout that guide us along in their journey.
Some felt that things progressed slow, but I really felt like it helped me get to know Edward Cole and Carter Chamber!
Great story that will keep you laughing, reflecting, and it may exercise the tear ducts.
