Slated for NZ release, January 20 2011 is The Fighter, the brand new film starring Mark Whalberg, Christian Bale and Amy Adams and directed by David O. Russell (Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees – also starring Mark Whalberg).
The Fighter is the dramatic true story about boxer ‘Irish’ Micky Ward’s unlikely road to the world of light welterweight title. His Rocky-like rise was shepherded by half-brother Dicky, a boxer-turned-trainer who decided to persue a crack habit instead.
