Not The Messiah
In 1979, Monty Python’s Life of Brian turned the Biblical epic on it’s head, now it’s the turn of classical music to get the Python touch. Filmed in 2009 at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall, Not The Messiah – He’s a Very Naughty Boy takes the best bits from the Life of Brian, combines it with the grandeur of live performance backed by a symphony orchestra, and delivers a once in a lifetime performance that is difficult to describe without resorting to superfluous statements such as, hilariously funny, a visual and audio-sonic masterpiece, stunning.
It will have you giggling, laughing and singing along in a very short time – the infectiousness of the whole show will overwhelm even the most ardent cynic.
Recommended (obviously) for Monty Python fans, Not The Messiah will appeal to any fans of British comedy in general and anyone who likes the idea of a live symphony performance without the usually associated stuffy classic score and fat rich white people.
