*SPOILER* Stranger Things 4 “Will Feel Very Different”
MAJOR SPOILERS for Stranger Things 3. So if you haven’t finished watching, go away. You have been warned.
The third season of Stranger Things debuted on Netflix less than a week ago, and it’s already broken streaming records, so although Nexflix hasn’t officially announced the fourth season just yet, it’s not rocket science figuring that they will be. But after the end of Season Three, what will happen next? Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer teased EW that the next season will feel very different from what has come before.
The third season came to an end with Sheriff Hopper missing (we can’t say dead, we can’t say dead, we just can’t), Eleven having lost her powers, the Russians having a Demogorgon, and the Byers family, plus Eleven, moving out of Hawkins, Indiana. Ross Duffer told EW that he knows where the fourth season of Stranger Things will take us.
We don’t want to write ourselves in a corner so we try to have these early discussions with the writers just to make sure that we’re setting ourselves up to go in the right direction. We don’t know a lot, but we do know a lot of the big broad strokes. At the end of season two, we knew about Billy. We knew that the Russians were going to come in. We didn’t know the mall and stuff, but again, we know these big broad strokes. That’s sort of where we are in season four. We have the big broad strokes. It’s just now about filling in those lines in the details. We’re pretty excited about where it’s potentially going to go. Again, like we said, it’s going to feel very different than this season. But I think that’s the right thing to do and I think it’ll be exciting.
