Apple TV+ Preview — Coming Late 2019
Apple has announced its big streaming service plans with the reveal of AppleTV+. They’ve apparently spent billions of dollars in the creation of original content for the service just in the last year, and they are saying that it will be a “new service, unlike anything that’s been done before,” and are expected to spend $2 billion this year!
Apple CEO Tim Cook introduced the heads of AppleTV+, Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, and they shared a promotion video featuring the directing talents of Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, M. Night Shyamalan, Ron Howard, Octavia Spencer, Sofia Coppola, and more. You can watch that below.
Apple wants AppleTV+ to become “the new home for the world’s most creative storytellers featuring exclusive original shows, movies, and documentaries.”
Apple has deep pockets so paying for content won’t be an issue, but there is much that Apple isn’t saying, and a bigger question of do we really need another streaming service?
The questions I’m keen to see answered is how much it will cost and will it be available in New Zealand on launch, and will there be an XBox or PS app so I can run it on my current set up?
