DVD: Life Of The Party
After dropping their daughter off at college, the father drops a bombshell of wanting a divorces on the stay at home mum played by McCarthy in her typical style. Insert midlife crisis and the feeling that she wasted her life by not completing her senior year, and mum enrolls at her former college and lands, yes, in the same fraternity that her daughter is in.
Oh but wait, it gets better. As morbidly fucked off as her daughter is with this one simple Assault on her college experience, things get a whole lot worse when in-explicitly, all her friends just LOVE her mum.
Of course daughter warms to the idea and mum actually helps make the whole college experience a thousand times better.
Predictable as a pile of dog shit on the front lawn, I will admit that Life Of The Party does have some genuine laugh out loud moments, but there are just as many so bad and cheesy that you want to stab yourself in the eyes moments to counter them, and some lengthy stretches of sheer absolute boredom.
Once again, McCarthy proves that she just isn’t funny.
