Surprise US hit 47 Metres Down coming to NZ cinemas
Following a hugely successful release at the US box office, Vendetta Films is excited to bring shark thriller 47 Metres Down to Kiwi shores, with a release announced for 27 July 2017.
47 Metres Down tells the thrilling story of two sisters, whose holiday of a lifetime becomes a living nightmare when they become trapped in a shark observation cage at the bottom of the ocean. With oxygen running low and great white sharks circling, it becomes a race for survival.
The film opened to an impressive US$11.5 million at the US box office, and is currently at US$35 million. Directed by Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door, Storage 24), the film stars Mandy Moore (“This Is Us,” The Darkest Minds) and Australian Claire Holt (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Aquarius”) with Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, “Stranger Things”).
The film is unapologetic good fun, and with its combination of suspense and scares, 47 Metres Down is set to thrill Kiwi audiences… and put them off swimming. 47 Metres Down will open on 27 July 2017.
