DVD Review: San Andreas
Just because it’s got Hollywood blockbuster written all over it and it stars Dwayne The Rock Johnson doesn’t mean that San Andreas is any less a B-Grade film than Sharknado. But if you sit down to watch San Andreas knowing that it’s going to be all B-Grade sniggers, then you’ll have a blast.
The plot is as paper thin as you’d expect, essentially a swarm of the biggest earthquakes ever recorded hit California, and The Rock teams up with his estranged wife to save their daughter, making them one happy family again.
Yep, that’s about it wrapped up.
Of course there is rampant destruction, lots of near death experiences and buckets and buckets of cheese. It’s action coupled with mostly unintentional comedy, and if you’re looking for comfortable, predictable B-Grade laughs, then San Andreas is perfect for a night on the couch.
