Flashpoint Season 1
The Greater The Risk, The Greater The Result. Such is the mantra of Toronto’s Police Strategic Response Unit. These are the top cops, the glory boys; the police team with all the toys to make the regular cops jealous. But it’s more than just the toys and the bravado, the SRU have an ace up their sleeves; the ability not only to negotiate with a subject, but also the ability to pull together the resources needed to diffuse any situation – or bring it to a controlled ending.
Of course it’s not all smooth running under the gloss of the SRU’s exterior. When your job involves focussing on someone through a snipers scope, knowing that you will soon end their life, stress is certainly a factor.
To combat this, the team is like a tightly knitted family who look out for each other.
Throw in some family issues, dynamic situations that require diffusing – which are never what they initially seem, and you have a compelling television show that will have you hooked from the very first episode.
With high production values and an air of believability, Flashpoint is a breath of fresh air in an over subscribed genre.
