DVD Review: Wastelander Panda: Exile
Wastelander Panda is an absolutely crazy idea that should not work. A family of anthropomorphic pandas are banished to the post apocalyptic wastelands after the son accidentally killed a young human girl. In order to find redemption and be allowed back into the safe haven the son, Issac must now wander the wastelands in search of a replacement girl, a girl who one day will bear children and ensure the survival of the safe haven.
What on the surface sounds like a drug influenced comedy is treated with grave seriousness, but this for some amazing unkown reason works, and works really well. Issac manages to draw us into this bleak ravaged future, where murder, betrayal and slavery go hand in hand. Where the land itself turns against those who wander it.
I can’t really say much about Wastelander Panda without possibly ruining the experience, but suffice to say that it’s one of those little gems that you won’t regret spending an evening with, and you probably will never forget.
