DVD Review: Into The Storm
Into The Storm is part cheesy and predictable B-grade family drama, and part disaster porn. The characters are on dimensional and the only joy you will find from the acting is watching as The Walking Dead’s Sarah Wayne Callies struggles to find her role, both as a character and an actor.
The film essentially splices together all the cliches, a broken family, a high school full of students, a storm chaser with nothing left to loose and a camera man who doesn’t really want to be chasing storms. Whilst the mother of all tornadoes makes a CGI mess on-screen, the convoluted plot makes a mess of the film itself.
If you love yourself some disaster porn, then Into The Storm may fit the bill, though you’ll have to endure long moments of cheese, but the storm segments are worth the wait.
It’s hard to give Into The Storm a rating, as there are some who will love this film and some that will loath it. And they’ll both be right. It’s equally a great disaster porn, and equally a terrible special effects laden mess.
Rating: M Adult themes.
