I don’t have a summary, but I thought Samir Horn (Don Cheadle) did a great job acting as a devout Muslim in this film. Samir is caught for attempting to sell explosives to Islamic terrorists. Samir is arrested and makes friends with the terrorists in prison. FBI agent Roy Clayton (Guy Pearce) comes into question Horn after he was arrested but the terrorist group breaks out of prison and take Horn with them. Samir Horn is soon helping the terrorists make bombs which leaves the audience confused. Is Samir an undercover cop or is he a good guy who is becoming more and more convinced of the terrorists’ cause? This film that looks at what the underworkings of what a terrorist group might do to make bombs or to create a plan to attack the US bring new insight into today’s world.
This film touches on a lot of hot issues including the fear of Americans to never feel completely safe anymore, what the life of a terrorist might look like, and the fact that terrorists can come from a variety of ages, genders, nationalities, and social groups. I think this is the first movie where a terrorist is portrayed as a good hero throughout the film. It really is a new twist on a continual discussion and issue.
